GIVING TREE
As a startup, our goal is to reduce the waste of community fruits and vegetables that the right people could enjoy. Often, homeowners with big fruit trees do not have the time or accessibility to pick their fruits, and a lot likely gets wasted and stays on the trees. By giving homeowners the opportunity to donate their fruit, either by them picking it for us or our volunteers picking it for them, we aim to reduce food wastage and help people in need.
We greatly appreciate any donations of fruits, vegetables, or money.
Our proceeds are versatile and used for the following:
- The collected produce is distributed to locals interested in enjoying pesticide-free, homegrown fruit or vegetables.
- Collected produce may also be sold at farmers markets at reasonable prices because the produce is not quality-checked and may not have as long a shelf life.
- Collected produce may be donated to local food banks, based on their need for what we have collected.
- Donations are optional but much appreciated and will be donated to food banks or to charities supporting people in need of food.
